Today Yesterday we celebrated the birthday of the Church, when the Holy Spirit came down on the Apostles. I don’t know if there’s a standard English greeting, so I’m just going to say “Happy Pentecost!” Chris and I celebrated the Church’s birthday by getting ice cream at Washtenaw Dairy last night. We found this lovely old shop that’s a five minute walk from our apartment. The ice cream is good, local and they fill the cones high. It’s the perfect date night for a cool summer evening stroll and we’ll miss it when we move.
There is a What I Wore Sunday link up hosted weekly at Fine Linen & Purple, where Christian women can share their Sunday best and encourage others to do the same with confidence. So here’s numero uno for me!
Dress: Kohl’s – Recycled from my bridal shower
Jacket: Levi’s – Christmas present from my mom
Shoes: Steve Madden – I love them and wear them sparingly because I don’t want them to lose all their sparkle. I originally bought them for our wedding dress rehearsal.
Hair: Out of control thanks to the rain and humidity Sunday morning. I didn’t realized it was just as wide as my shoulders until Chris took my picture. Ironically, I thought it was looking pretty nice before the photographic proof otherwise. Oh well.
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Your love.
Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created.
And You shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray. O God, Who instructs the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord.
